Uday Kumar Varma appointed I&B Secretary

Uday Kumar Varma has been appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on October 17, 2011. He is currently the Secretary, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.

Varma, a 1976 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Madha Pradesh cadre, will succeed Raghu Menon, who had retired some time ago.
