Six Indian companies have made a mark at the first Red Herring Global 2007 Awards. The companies which have earned a mention in this list include Bigtec, Gameshastra Solutions, NetAlter Software, Persistent Systems, Tejas Networks India and Telibrahma Convergent Communications. The global award winners were announced on December 4 this year at the Red Herring Global 2007 Awards Ceremony in Seattle, Washington.
The winners were chosen from among 1,800 companies that were Red Herring 100 winners and finalists from North America, Europe and Asia during the last three years. Evaluations were made on both quantitative and qualitative criteria, such as financial performance, innovation, management, global strategy and ecosystem integration.
Based out of Bangalore, Bigtec is in the business of incubating start-ups in medical sensors, recombinant insulin and drug discovery software. It also helps in moving an idea from its incubation to a prototype product, setting the stage of manufacturing and deployment.
Gameshastra Solutions from Hyderabad has been providing outsourcing services for all aspects of game development including coding, designing and testing.
Mumbai-based NetAlter Software is in the business of proposing a secure alternative to the Internet using a proprietary peer-to-peer network. Persistent Systems, from Pune, has been providing outsourcing services specialised in software product development.
Tejas Networks India, a next-generation optical networking equipment player, is a developer of carrier grade optical networking equipment, based in Bangalore. Telibrahma Convergent Communications, another Bangalore-based company, is a mobile solutions company providing Interactive Bluetooth-based advertising solutions.
