Online News Association Conference and Awards, one of the world’s premier conferences scheduled for September 11-13, 2008 at Washington, has invited Sanjay Trehan, CEO, NDTV Convergence to be part of a handpicked panel of speakers from around the globe. Trehan is the only Indian speaker to speak at the conference.
The Conference will offer more than 40 different sessions, ranging from panels and keynote speeches to hands-on classes and group discussions over a period of three days.
Trehan has been invited to speak during the session titled ‘Merging Newsrooms, Managing Drama’, which will focus on best practices around newsroom restructuring and editorial training in an increasingly converging world. Among other confirmed speakers for the conference are Peter Horrocks, Head of Newsroom Convergence, BBC; and Chris Crewson, Executive Editor, Philly.com, to name a few.
Speaking on this invitation, Trehan said, “It gives me great pleasure to not only showcase NDTV Convergence to world leaders in online space, but also represent India that is emerging as one of the biggest consumers of Internet and mobile media.” He further said that this invitation came at an extremely opportune time when Convergence was ready to forge strategic alliances with international partners leveraging its strength of local content that spread across various genres like news, business, sports, entertainment, education and lifestyle.
