S Ramadorai, Kumar Mangalam Birla, K V Kamath bag top honours at Strategic & Leadership Excellence Awards

The World Strategy Summit held in Mumbai awarded some of the known industry players for their ‘Strategic and Leadership Excellence’. S Ramadorai, MD and CEO, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), was declared Business Strategist of the Year.

The award for the Role Model and Visionary Leadership went to Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chairman, Aditya Vikram Birla Group, and K V Kamath, CEO and MD, ICICI Bank Ltd. Aditya Puri, MD, HDFC Bank Ltd, bagged the award for Excellence in Business Strategy in Finance.

The award for Excellence in Business Strategy in Manufacturing was given to Anand Mahindra, Vice Chairman and MD, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. In the Retail sector, Kishore Biyani, Chief Knowledge Officer, Pantaloon Retail (India) Ltd, bagged the award for Excellence in Business Strategy in Retail.

Sunil Bharti Mittal, Chairman and MD, Bharti Enterprises Ltd, bagged the award for Excellence in Business Strategy in Marketing, while Mukesh Ambani, CMD, Reliance Industries Ltd, walked away with the award for Excellence in Business Strategy in Oil & Gas.

The Strategy Leadership Awards were conferred upon Piyush Pandey, Executive Chairman and NCD, O&M; Debu Bhattacharya, MD, Aditya Birla Group; Sudip Nandy, CSO, Wipro Technologies Ltd; Kris Gopalakrishnan, President and COO, Infosys; Chanda Kochhar, Deputy MD, ICICI Bank Ltd, and Aban Pestonjee, Chairperson, ABANS Group.

The other award winners included Mehmood Khan, Global Leader of Innovation, Unilever, UK; Ravi Fernando, Director-Corporate Branding and Strategic CSR, MAS Holdings; Syed Abu Naser Bukhtear Ahmed, MD and CEO, Agrani Bank; Dr Max Nyiri, Senior Partner, Institute for Strategy and Complexity Management; Prof Remy Prud’homme, Professor Emeritus, University of Paris XII, France; Farooq Sobhan, President, Bangladesh Enterprise Institute; Gerard Kleisterlee, CEO, Royal Philips Electronics; Joseph DiVanna, MD, Maris Strategist Ltd; Carl-Henric Svanberg, CEO, Ericsson Telekom; and Abdulla J M Kalban, CEO, Dubai Aluminium Company Ltd.
