Rajiv Garg denies reports of his appointment as MD, Dish TV

Speculations have been making rounds of the industry about Rajiv Garg being assigned the duties of Managing Director, Dish TV. Refuting media reports that suggested the same, Garg said that even as the issue was being discussed, it never fructified.

He said, “I have been involved with Dish TV, as I would be with any other new initiative of the Essel Group in the capacity of the Chief Executive, Essel Corporate Group but that is it. I have not been assigned any executive designation for Dish TV as such.”

Garg’s key focus areas have been the finance and strategy functions of the Essel Group. In the past few weeks, discussions within the Essel Group in regards to a Managing Director for Dish TV were taking place.

However, this was one of various suggestions that didn’t materialise for the group. Sunil Khanna continues to be the CEO for Dish TV.

When asked whether Garg saw any such development taking place in the near future, he replied, “Not in a long visible future.”
