HOOQ, Asia’s new Over-the-Top (OTT) service from Singtel, Sony Pictures Television and Warner Bros. Entertainment is progressively being launched across Asia and its recent deal with Prime Focus Technologies, the techno subsidiary of media services powerhouse Prime Focus will boost their overall performance through digital media.
PFT’s CLEARTM Operations Cloud will help package and deliver content on HOOQ across India, Indonesia, Philippines and Thailand.
“Prime Focus Technologies is thrilled to be a part of a transformative OTT solution in Asia,” said Ramki Sankaranarayanan, Founder and CEO, PFT. “Consumer behaviour is changing rapidly and HOOQ will surely have the first mover advantage in the Asian market. Our ‘Digital Next’ offering, Operations Cloud is uniquely placed to match scale, complexity and disruptive vision of HOOQ to securely present premium global and local content to a billion Asian viewers anytime, anywhere.”
Starting from the first quarter of 2015, HOOQ will bring to the customer an OTT that will provide both, Hollywood blockbusters and television series, as well as popular local movies by enabling them to stream and download shows on their devices or platforms of choice.
Like with any other OTT platform, the ability to deliver content at fast speeds, in different formats with varied quality standards is HOOQ’s main concern and one of its biggest challenges.
PFT’s CLEAR, Hybrid Cloud-enabled Media ERP Suite will help manage such issues in an efficient manner. It will manage key workflows including content processing and packaging.
Peter G Bithos, CEO of HOOQ said, “Prime Focus Technologies is a known name in innovative Cloud solutions especially in the Asian market. Their experience and technology prowess will add huge value in managing a project of this scale and size.”
HOOQ will deliver over 15,000 Hollywood blockbusters and popular local programs to customers anytime, anywhere. They currently operate in the Philippines and Thailand with a population footprint of over 160 million people and will soon launch in India.
