Prasar Bharati inducts it’s first full-time Member-Finance

Close on the heels of appointing the CEO, Prasar Bharati has appointed S. Sundresan to handle the Finance portfolio. In Sundresan, Prasar Bharati has found a seasoned finance person who also has understanding of communication business. He has had close interactions with advertising agencies serving his earlier organization, HUDCO.

S Sundresan is a CA by qualification and has served various PSU including MTNL and HUDCO in his 30 years of service. As Director Finance in HUDCO, he was largely responsible for various resource mobilization programmes and played an important part in marketing strategies as well. At MTNL, he initiated setting up of an electronic payment gateway for online bill presentment.

As reported by exchange4media on 5th March 02, Prasar Bharati had appointed KS Sarma as CEO replacing Anil Baijal. Sarma had earlier served as DG, Doordarshan between 1996 and 1998. He had also held the post of Joint Secretary in I&B ministry, looking after the broadcasting division.

Will this experience and acumen help state broadcaster manage an upswing, well one hopes so.
