ORG-IMS, the IMS India-ACNielsen ORG-MARG joint venture has appointed Shailesh Gadre as Managing Director of the company. In his new role, Gadre would spearhead efforts to integrate the two organisations' global expertise and presence in India - delivering a wider array of products and services that would provide pharmaceutical clients an even more complete picture of marketplace activities.
A qualified chartered accountant, cost accountant and company secretary, Gadre stepped into the professional life with Accenture (the management consulting company, formerly known as Andersen Consulting). During his tenure in Accenture, he worked on various assignments in areas of business and marketing strategy, IT strategy, business process re-engineering and organisational restructuring across multiple industries and countries.
Gadre later on joined Nicholas Piramal, one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in India, to help shape their domestic formulation strategy in order to steer growth objectives beyond 2005. Subsequently, he took charge of the organisation's largest strategic business unit and managed to grow the business significantly.
"Shailesh's thorough understanding of the Indian pharmaceutical industry and grounding in pharmaceutical marketing is a perfect strategic fit for ORG-IMS," said Partha Rakshit, Managing Director, ACNielsen ORG-MARG. "His background offers the joint venture a leader who is experienced in knowing what the market requires - from the client's point of view. His insights will help ORG-IMS pave the way towards developing innovative services that would ensure better services to the needs of the industry," he added.
ORG-IMS serves the Indian pharmaceutical industry with nearly 100 combined years of global expertise, information assets, and analysis tools. "As we drive growth through greater innovation, new product and service offerings, responsiveness and customer focus, Shailesh is the ideal executive to lead the charge," said Vinod Khisty, Area Vice President, IMS. "His proven marketing leadership skills and extensive consulting, business strategy and operation-savvy expertise will certainly enrich the organisation and serve our clients better," he observed.
