Mullen Lowe to use Lions to help Nepal earthquake victims

Mullen Lowe has kick-started the program Can Your Lions, to use their Lions (and those willing to join in) towards fighting hunger in disaster ravaged Nepal.

The company plans to donate the monetary equivalent of their metals to be used to send food to Nepal’s earthquake survivors. According to Lowe, a Grand Prix Lion is estimated to value at USD 2,906, which can pay for 5812 days of food. Gold, silver and bronze Lions have been valued at USD 1,280, which can foot the bill for 2560 days worth of meals.

With 11 wins – three gold, three silver and seven bronze, Mullen Lowe themselves will be able to support 33,280 meals.

“We’re excited to be in Cannes celebrating the best of global creativity, and we’re hopeful that the global creative community will join us in sharing our good fortune in support of this important humanitarian initiative,” says Alex Leikikh, Global Chief Executive Officer of Mullen Lowe Group.

Using last year’s award count as reference, if each of the Lion winners were to take part in the initiative and donate the monetary equivalent of their awards, the Can Your Lion program would be able to donate USD 1.5 million worth of food towards relief efforts in Nepal.
