Mindshare Kolkata wins media duties for RPG Group’s Spencer’s retail business

Mindshare Kolkata has bagged the media duties for RPG Group’s Spencer’s. The size of the business is estimated at upwards of Rs 10 crore. Recently, Spencer’s had shifted its creative duties to Rediffusion DY&R, Kolkata. Prior to this, the advertising duties – both creative and media – of Spencer’s were with Grey Worldwide and its media arm Mediacom.

As reported by exchange4media earlier, Spencer’s was reviewing its media AOR. Though the name of all the media agencies in the fray could not be ascertained, Rediff’s The Media Edge (TME) and Initiative Media were definitely in the race.

The account till recently was serviced from Chennai and the shift to Kolkata has happened as part of the RPG Group’s top management’s decision. The strategy is to bring greater focus on the retail business because of its potential and ambitious growth plans.
