Media Magazine reckons TBWA/Asia Pacific as Agency of the Year

TBWA/Asia Pacific has been reckoned as the ‘Agency of the Year’ by the Media Magazine Awards. TBWA\Tequila Singapore has been awarded ‘Office of the Year’ and John Merrifield from TBWA\ Japan, was named as ‘Creative of the Year’. This is the first time any agency has collected a total of three awards at the event, which includes both ‘Agency of the Year’ and ‘Office of the Year.’ Tequila\Singapore was also named runner-up in the ‘Below-The-Line Agency of the Year’ category.

In its commentary on the win, Media Magazine said the award "demonstrated that TBWA was capable of punching above its age and weight….not only in account reviews, but at international award shows as well." It noted that under the guidance of Asia Pacific Chairman, Keith Smith, the network had developed "a team that is entrepreneurial, quality focused and has demonstrated and honed TBWA’s Disruption positioning into a fearsome competitive edge."

The magazine commended the agency’s strong new business performance, highlighting wins such as Standard Chartered and Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer. It also remarked on the networks amazing run at international awards shows including Cannes, Clio, D&AD and One Show.
