LG Electronics' Daya Prakash joins Grey Head Media as Director

Grey Head Media has announced the joining of Daya Prakash, CIO of LG India Electronics and a senior technology and business leader, as a full-time Director on the Board. Prakash joins Grey Head at a time when the company is completing its second year in business. Grey Head claims to have registered 100 per cent year-on-year growth in FY13.

Grey Head Media is a start up media organisation functioning in the enterprise technology media space and fulfilling the information and knowledge needs of the CIO community in India.

Apart from driving the overall growth of the company, Prakash’s primary responsibility will be to help position DynamicCIO, the flagship brand of Grey Head media, as a full circle, 360 degree knowledge platform for the CIO community in India and beyond. The key areas of growth that Prakash will specifically drive include education, research and consulting.

Prakash brings with him 17 years of rich industry experience. In his last role, he was Head of IT at LG Electronics India, where he was responsible for implementation of latest technologies, business process innovation to enhance organisational competitiveness. He had been associated with LG since 2001.

Commenting on Prakash’s appointment, Rahul Neel Mani, Co-founder and Director, Grey Head Media said, “The growth in the industry and business has put forth some typical challenges for CIOs in India. The information needs, knowledge dissemination, etc., need to be dealt with a different dimension. In today’s context, the typical media models are fast becoming obsolete and ineffective. There is a need for fresh perspective and outlook. By getting Daya on board as a full time Director, Grey Head will be able to fill up that vacuum. I am very confident that our offerings to the CIO community will put us on a very different pedestal now.”

DynamicCIO is a CIO blog site, which came into existence in 2011. It is a unique experiment to provide CIOs and senior IT leaders a platform where they can freely express opinions in three broad areas –Leadership, Strategy and Technology.
