International Indian Film Academy bags TMG Award for ‘Best International South Asian Event’

International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) has won the TMG Award for ‘Best International South Asian Event’. The IIFA organises the annual IIFA Weekend, which travels across, and also includes the Idea IIFA Awards. Professor David Flint of Triangle Media Group (TMG) presented the Award to IIFA for excellence in promoting Indian films overseas.

Speaking on the win, Sabbas Joseph, Director, Wizcraft, said, “As organisers of Idea-IIFA Awards we are delighted to accept this Award. This Award is indeed a recognition of the trust that our film industry leaders have in our ability to promote Indian films across the world.”

“Along with the success in the film arena, the Awards have had a major impact on tourism and business investment for the country concerned. Therefore, we hope that the success of Indian films will continue to grow on a global scale,” Joseph further said.

Since its launch in 2000, the Idea IIFA Weekend has been staged at several locations around the world, including Dubai, Malaysia, Amsterdam, Singapore and South Africa, and has been beamed to nearly 450 million viewers across the world on the STAR Network.
