The Franchising Association of India and Franchise Plus are jointly organising an ‘Indian Franchising and Retailing Summit’ on November 30 and December 1, 2007 in Mumbai. The two-day event comprises an exhibition and a conference that will serve as a common platform for the national and international franchise and retail industries to congregate and share their experience and knowledge.
The conference will try to unveil practices in brand equity that will pave ways towards phenomenal success in retailing and franchising. It will also feature licensing, and other forms of marketing and brand extension.
Day one of the Summit will deal with issues like ‘Franchising – Future of Retailing in India’, ‘Structured Expansion through Franchising’, ‘Modern Retail Formats and Real Estate’, ‘Mentoring Retailers’, ‘Franchisees and Licencees’ and ‘Success Factors for Franchising’. The speakers would highlight factors influencing the growth of retail, its boom, new strategies and business opportunities for new entrants, as well as pitfalls to be avoided.
Speakers at the conference include Sudhir Pai, Vice President, Reliance Retail; Amit Jatia, MD-Western Region, McDonalds; Preeti Malik, Vice President-Aviation Training, Avalon Academy; Uday Sharma, Vice President, Safexpress; Gulraj Singh Shahpuri, Director, Education One; Ajay Khanna, MD, DLF Retail; Tarun Joshi, CEO, Brand House Retail; Manish Adhiya, CEO, ZGuru.com; Ratan Jalan, CEO, Apollo Clinic; Uday Zokarkar, MD, Bharat Matrimony; Uday Sharma, MD, Euro Kids; and Arun Khaitan, CEO, Kidzee.
Day two of the Summit will have Paul Merrifield, National Shopping Centre Development Manager, Aditya Birla Retail Ltd, conducting a workshop on franchising, while the latter half of the concluding day will be made available for exhibition and stall visits.
