India Splendour to return to Los Angeles next year

The next edition of the India Splendour, an event designed to present the best of Indian art, business, culture and spirituality to American audiences, is scheduled to be held from August 15 to 17, 2008 in Los Angeles. This year, the event was celebrated over six days from August 10 to 15, on the occasion of 60th anniversary of India’s Independence and was reportedly attended by over 5,000 people.

Bhuvan Lall, Director of India Splendour, and President of MCORP Global, said, “We are delighted as well as humbled by the overwhelming response from the people of Southern California to the first India Splendour event this year, and have decided to have a sequel next year.”

The event paid tribute to global Indians, including spiritual Guru Sri Sri Ravi Shanker, Infosys Chief Narayana Murthy, music conductor Zubin Mehta and Indian filmmakers Mani Ratnam and Vidhu Vinod Chopra with the first ‘Global Indian Splendour Awards’.

Other personalities who were awarded on the occasion included Rajendra Pawar, Chairman, NIIT, for his work on developing human resource potential; Silicon Valley entrepreneur Raju Vegesna; Vallabh Bhansali, Founder and Chairman, Enam Consultants; Vivek C Burman, Chairman, Dabur; Renuka Ramnath, Managing Director and CEO, ICICI Venture Funds Management Company Ltd; PNC Menon, Chairman, Sobha Group; and Kishore Lulla, Chairman, Eros International.

India Splendour was presented by M Global Trust, in association with UCLA TFT, ICM and ArtWallah.
