IMC’s Fusion 2013 to put sports, M&E under the scanner

The Indian Merchants’ Chamber is back with the second edition of its annual conference on sports, media and entertainment – IMC Fusion. The conference will be held in Mumbai at the Grand Hyatt in Santa Cruz on Saturday, February 16, 2013.

The conference is being organised under the auspices of IMC’s Entertainment Committee chaired by Karan Johar. Actor Kabir Bedi will be the host of IMC Fusion 2013.

The day-long conference will cover wide ranging topics that include:
• 21st Century Entertainment: Talent Creation & Challenges of Nurturing & Mentoring
• Hyper Channelisation and The New Entertainment Landscape: Apps, Social Media, YouTube, Gaming and Commerce
• The Brewing Content Battle: Who is Transforming Content and Consumer Experience for the Better?

• Script is the Star: Can it also deliver Rs 100 crore at the Box-office?

The accent this year will also be on content and creation, talent and involvement, women in Indian cinema, the power of scripts, social media and app world, while discussing other contemporary developments in the ever-evolving and dynamic sectors of sports, media and entertainment.

Commenting on Fusion 2013, IMC President Niranjan Hiranandani said, “This year, the conference gets bigger in scope and scale. There will be dedicated B2B exhibition space that will provide a platform for product and service providers from the connected industry to interact with the right target group in a productive environment. In the evening, there will be special Award function and networking dinner.”

Ramesh Taurani, who is associated with the organising committee, added here, “This year, IMC Fusion will join the celebration of the 100th year of Indian Cinema. It will present IMC Fusion Excellence in Entertainment Award in the evening, following the conference. The celebrity winner will be selected by an eminent panel of judges.”

Indian Merchants’ Chamber, as the pioneering trade body of the country since 1907, has been actively involved in promotion of the business interests of its various constituents. In this process, the endeavour has been to reach out to different industry groups, understand their views and perspectives and present them to the policy makers and other decision makers to facilitate growth of that sector, in particular, and industry in general.

Key issues identified during the IMC Fusion 2013 conference, together with suggestions and outcomes from different sessions, will be collated for taking up at appropriate levels.
