I&B Minister Ambika Soni resigns

Minister for Information & Broadcasting Ambika Soni has resigned on October 27 after meeting Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh in the morning. She has said that she will continue to work for the Congress party.

The development comes just four days ahead of the digitisation deadline on October 31. It remains to be seen who gets the Information & Broadcasting portfolio in the Cabinet reshuffle scheduled for October 28 and how it will impact the digitisation process.
