Guruprasad Rao of GroupM to join Network as Head of Media, separate arm on cards

Guruprasad Rao, Business Director at GroupM and Head of Motivator, is set to join Network Advertising. Confirming the news, Vinod Nair, CEO of Network Advertising, said that Rao would join in the first week of October as Vice-President, and would head media. Rao will report to Vinod Nair.

Nair added, “Guruprasad Rao has been very successful in media. I am sure his expertise and experience will benefit Network and its clients.”

Rao said, “I have spent three years with GroupM now. I will be joining Network Advertising from October 3, and will head media there.”

Even as Nair and Rao are not divulging details at the moment, informed industry sources said that Network was in the process of setting up a separate media arm to handle media duties of its clients. The structure is not yet clear, but is believed to be taking shape.

Network Advertising is a 15-year-old full service agency, and among its clients are HDFC, Jet Airways and Cipla.
