Global News Network launches news and sports image agency

Given the importance of the visual element in news presentation, be it in the print, television or the Internet media, Global News Network (GNN) has launched a news and sports image agency to cater to the needs of newspapers and magazines in India. Two experienced photojournalists – Vino John and Leonard Aarons – have been roped in to head the agency.

M Lakshmanan, who has over two decades of media experience, would led his expertise to the agency, which has some of the most experienced photo journalists using high end Canon digital cameras.

Some of the forthcoming sports events that the agency would be covering include the cricket Tri-Series involving India, Sri Lanka and South Africa, to be played in Sri Lanka between August 14 and August 29, 2006.

The agency would also cover the South Asian Federation (SAF) Games (Sri Lanka, August 18-29, 2006), BDO Men’s Hockey World Cup (Germany, September 6-17 2006), Women’s World cup (Spain, September 27-October 8 2006), ICC Champions Trophy, (India, October 2006) and the Asian Games (Doha, December 1-15, 2006).

The comprehensive coverage package would include team arrival, matches, on and off field action, sidelights, practice, preparations and newsbreaks.
