Gecis Global seeks separate identity; changes name to Genpact

Gecis, one of the major players in global outsourcing, has taken a new name, yet again. Gecis Global is now Genpact. Genpact President and CEO Pramod Bhasin, said, “We chose the name primarily because it aptly communicates our brand promise of generating value, commitment, partnership and impact.”

He added that the companies’ tagline was ‘Global business impact’. The logo has been designed by Interbrand, which includes a stylized arrow impacting a blue field. It conveys pushing the envelope, aiming higher and, of course, business impact.

Genpact Senior VP, Communications & Investor Relations, David Jensen, said, “Gecis didn’t have a real brand in itself. We were part of the GE brand. With the Genpact brand name, we are creating a separate identity for ourselves.”

Elaborating on the advertising spends this year, Jensen said that the advertising spends in all the markets globally stood at $1 million. “In India, we are targeting these five cities – Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Jaipur and Kolkata,” he added.

Jensen further said, “We are mainly advertising in print and we are putting hoardings in all these five cities. We also have plans to advertise on the Internet in the future.”
