Flipkart appoints Sriram Venkataraman as the CFO for its commerce platform

Flipkart today announced that it has appointed Sriram Venkataraman as the CFO for its commerce platform and Pramod Jain as VP and Head of Taxation.

In his current role, Venkataraman, as the finance lead for the commerce platform (CP), will head all aspects of the finance function for CP and will be responsible to drive the CP business to deliver its ambitions.

Speaking on the appointment, Sanjay Baweja, Chief Financial Officer, Flipkart, said, “We are very excited to have Sriram on board with us. His experience in handling diverse roles and sharp business acumen will be a great benefit to the company.”
Venkataraman has over 19 years of experience in Unilever, handling a variety of leadership and operational responsibilities in manufacturing, product development/management, global supply chain and procurement, global treasury, corporate finance and business finance, covering the Asia-Africa geographies. His last role was Head of Sales Finance in Hindustan Unilever. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from IIT Madras and did his post-graduation in Management from the ISB.

Pramod Jain who has joined Flipkart as the Vice President and Head of Taxation, will add his might to create a strong charter for taxation team and will play a key role in taking the tax teams engagement with revenue and government authorities to the next level.

“Pramod joins us with very high credentials and the benefit of great exposure in his earlier stints with organizations of repute. His unconventional approach to solving problems will definitely play a key role in setting high standards in the industry,” Baweja added.

Prior to Flipkart, Jain worked with Indus Towers Limited, a joint venture of Airtel, Vodafone and Idea, as VP Taxation for 5+ years. Before that, he worked as the country tax head for Dell and Xerox and in different capacities in Big-4 firms. He is a Chartered Accountant and Lawyer by professional qualifications.

Kranti Gada joined the family business at Shemaroo in 2006 after a successful stint of over two years in marketing at Pepsi Co. She has been associated with the company for 12 years.
