Financial Express to felicitate women achievers in business on March 18

Financial Express, the business daily from The Indian Express Group, will host the FE Women in Business Award function in Mumbai on March 18. The awards ceremony will be presided over by Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram, who will give away the awards to the winners at the ceremony.

The awards, which seek to recognise the contribution made by women in the field of business, will have categories like Lifetime Achievement, Best Entrepreneur, Best Professional and Young Achiever. State Bank of India is the presenting sponsor of the event. The other partners in the venture include Synovate India, Ayur Herbals, and NDTV Profit.

Mythili Bhusnurmath, Editor, Financial Express, said, “In the 21st century women are leaders in industry, government and in organisations world wide. In the recent past, we have seen women being elected to top political posts in three countries – Germany, Chile and Liberia. Yet such instances are just too few and far between. The lot of most women is still far from happy. In honouring women achievers, FE hopes to show case role models that other women can emulate and in the process do its bit for empowering all women, everywhere.”

The rigorous judging process of selecting the winners have been undertaken with the help of PriceWaterhouseCoopers and the panel of judges include the likes of Zia Mody, Anu Aga, Ranjana Kumar (all winners of the previous FE Women in Business Awards), A K Purwar, Chairman, State Bank of India, and Shekhar Gupta, Group CEO, The Indian Express Group.


Kranti Gada joined the family business at Shemaroo in 2006 after a successful stint of over two years in marketing at Pepsi Co. She has been associated with the company for 12 years.
