With the completion of its first year of operations, E18 has stepped up its activities in India. The entertainment and brand solutions venture of Network18 has announced the launch of its B2B property, ‘World Strategy Forum’. E18 plans to bring in world politicians like former US Vice-President Al Gore and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair to officiate this Forum. The dates for this would be declared by December-end 2008.
Elaborating on the plans regarding live concerts, Farhad K Wadia, CEO, E18, said, “We are starting with a five-city tour of the popular Independence Rock concert in July-end in Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata and Pune. We will then we bring Def Leppard for a concert in Bangalore on October 17, followed by Mumbai on October 19. We are also doing a theatrical production of Cirque Dreams in Mumbai from October 6 to 13. In November-end, we would be doing another five-city live concert featuring Jethro Tull and sitarist Anoushka Shankar in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata and Hyderabad.”
Talking on the advertising plans, Wadia said, “We have our own network through which we advertise. We also have print partnerships with and The Telegraph in Kolkata and Mid-Day in other cities. We do advertising across our network as Network18 now has Viacom18 as part of it, which gives us two entertainment platforms – MTV and Vh1. You can’t get a better platform than this for television. We also have our own GEC Colors. We truly have the best opportunity to use our own television properties.”
E18 organises large corporate events and celebrity concerts. The company has three verticals – B2B events, B2C events and corporate events. E18 does knowledge-based conferences and seminars, and business initiative programmes in B2B events. As part of B2C events, it organises concerts and large format entertainment shows, international entertainment acts and Indian rock events. Corporate events are dedicated to working with brand strategy team of various corporations and focus on creating annual properties to strengthen their position in the market.
