Dr Morepen's MD Kartik Raina put in his papers

DR Morepen's Managing Director, Kartik Raina, is said to have put in his papers. Raina had joined the fledgling `fast-moving health goods' (FMHG) company, Dr Morepen, in October 2001. Having seen some high-profile acquisitions like Burnol and Lifespring, supported by high decibel advertising - the recent development comes as the first major setback to Dr Morepen, the wholly owned subsidiary of Morepen Laboratories Ltd.

Morepen officials however did not confirm or deny the development. It is learnt through sources that Raina had resigned recently and would continue in his present office till the end of January next.

According to the pharma industry sources Raina had brought to Dr Morepen over two decades of professional experience in sales and marketing. His last assignment, before joining Dr Morepen, was with The Best Food Company (a part of the Unilever Group) in Sri Lanka where he was Managing Director responsible for top and bottom lines of operations in Sri Lanka and Maldives.
