DD, AIR may sign pact with Romanian TV, Radio

Doordarshan and All India Radio will be signing an agreement with the National Television of Romania and Romanian Radio Broadcasting Corporation. These agreements will be signed along with those on plant protection and phytosanitary quarantine field, sanitary veterinary field and for a visa-free agreement for diplomatic and official passport holders during the forthcoming visit of Romanian president Ion Iliescu. The two countries will also be agreeing on holding cultural exchange programmes.

Mr Iliescu will be visiting the country from January 28-February 1. A joint statement is expected to be issued at the end of the visit, said a foreign ministry spokesperson here on Friday.
