CyberMedia inks JV with CMP Media to create global outsourcing portfolio

Specialty media house, CyberMedia, and CMP Media, a leading integrated media company serving the technology, healthcare and entertainment markets, have joined hands to build a global media portfolio focused on worldwide services.

The joint venture, called CMP-CyberMedia LLC, will work in the direction to better inform industry executives how to “evaluate and secure services for their business, and to provide marketers with access to the right decision makers for their messages by developing a comprehensive brand portfolio that will include print, online and events.”

Hoshie Ghaswalla, President-Publishing, CyberMedia, will serve as Managing Director, while Rusty Weston, founder of CMP Media’s Managing Offshore, will be the Editor-in-Chief of the joint venture.

Pradeep Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director of CyberMedia, said that this would be the first global product from an Indian media house addressing global readers. “This move is part of CyberMedia’s plans of expanding globally. We recognise the tremendous growth potential of the Indian ITES-BPO industry. We, therefore, chose to combine our BPO portfolio with CMP’s Managing Offshore to broaden our reach to this new and expanding market.”

Ghaswalla felt that this was a winning combination for the outsourcing market place. “Both companies share a deep understanding of the IT industry, and bring solid customer relationships and comprehensive databases to the joint venture, creating a strong foundation in which to build a powerful new brand. We look forward to working together to provide customers with the right products to address their outsourcing information needs,” he added.

“This new venture is the next step in our strategy to address the needs of both marketers and audiences as they think and act on a global scale,” said Gary Marshall, President and CEO of CMP Media.

“According to Gartner Dataquest, the North American BPO market is expected to grow to $110 billion by 2009, and our new joint venture will enable us to penetrate this fast-growing audience in an unprecedented way,” he asserted.

CyberMedia has been publishing ‘Global Outsourcing’ since August 2004. A media offering for decision makers and influencers of offshoring, ‘Global Outsourcing’ is a platform for buyers and sellers of these services that provide exclusive articles, advisories, research, case studies and interviews.

CMP Media, part of United Business Media, launched ‘Managing Offshore’ newsletters addressing the complex issues of global sourcing in May 2004.
