CyberMedia Group’s ‘BioSpectrum Asia’ bags Asian Publishing Award 2008

‘BioSpectrum Asia’, the life sciences publication from the CyberMedia Group, has won the Asian Publishing Award 2008 under the innovative business model category. The award was presented by Ho Kwon Ping, Chairman of Singapore-based MediaCorp, to Narayanan Suresh, Group Editor, BioSpectrum Asia, during the Asian Publishing Convention held at Singapore last week.

Pradeep Gupta, Chairman, CyberMedia, said, “‘BioSpectrum Asia’ won the award for its innovating and path-breaking business model that helped it scale new benchmarks and become a sustainable venture within two years.”

The Asian Publishing Awards 2008 received 203 entries from 79 publishing companies in 22 countries. ‘BioSpectrum Asia’ won the award for developing business models that exploit multimedia opportunities while understanding the role of content and changing consumer preferences.

The publication was launched from Singapore in March 2006. It covers life sciences news from countries in the Asia-Pacific and is delivered in multiple formats – a monthly print magazine, a fortnightly digital magazine, daily electronic newsletter and website.
