Carving Dreams Entertainment ventures into film production

Carving Dreams Entertainment (CDE), which specialises in celebrity management, has signed a $100 million deal with a US-based production unit Hollywood International Studios (HIS). As per the deal, both CDE and HIS will co-produce five films over a period of 3-4 years, featuring both Indian and international talent.

This strategic partnership will see many firsts in the Indian film industry. Under this association, all films will be shot simultaneously in English and Hindi. Moreover, it will also mark Hollywood debuts for many stars from Indian cinema. The projects, which are currently being developed, will be shot in India, the Middle East and Europe.

The association also adds a new dimension to Indian film industry as it would provide Indian cinema with an international platform to showcase its talent globally. Commenting on the deal, Afsar Zaidi, Managing Director, Carving Dreams Entertainment, said, “We are glad to announce this partnership with Hollywood International Studios. I am sure that with the combination of both our artistic sensibilities, commercial instincts, marketing and distribution expertise, we would be able to generate good results.”

Apart from venturing into film production, CDE has also stepped into branded entertainment consulting. Explaining the company’s move in this direction, Zaidi said, “I believe we have a strong understanding of both brands and entertainment properties like films and music, which gives us the ability to create mutually beneficial synergies between the brands and the celebrities. Moreover, today brands from almost every sector are looking at entertainment. Be it events, Bollywood celebrities or in-film brand placements, the reach and visibility provided by entertainment properties today is unparalleled. Our entertainment consulting team works with corporate clients to create innovative concepts around entertainment that help companies achieve their communication objectives and build their brands.”

Set up in 2005, CDE is working as consultants to brands like Biba, Spykar and Cinemax. They have also created in-film associations for brands such as General Motors, Whirlpool, Kappa and Tata Indicom. CDE also manages filmstars like Ajay Devgan, Kajol, Hrithik Roshan, Bipasha Basu, Celina Jaitly, Tanushree Dutta, Isha Sharvani, and Sikandar Kher, among others.
