Cannes opportunity for Ghatothkach and Shemaroo

There is one more promotion lined up for the Cannes this year. Shemaroo Entertainment Pvt. Ltd is planning to promote the cause of the Indian animation industry at the Cannes Film Festival this year. Indian animation film ‘Ghatothkach --Master of Magic’ will be promoted at the Cannes Film Festival before it releases in India.

Shemaroo is promoting the film through the use of large posters, cut-outs and the audio-visual medium. There will also be a ‘Ghatothkach Kit’ during the film festival. It will include merchandise like a note-book, mouse pad, show reel, calendar and flier.

In the India Pavilion at Cannes, Shemaroo plans to put up a huge wall-size display of Ghatothkach, and the company advertised through international magazines like Hollywood Reporter and Variety.

Hiren Gada, Vice President, Shemaroo Entertainment, said, “We want to tap the potential new audiences in the international market and promote the film through innovative positioning. We are already seeing a lot of interest in Ghatothkach. We hope we are able to create a wider global market for Indian animation.”

Smita Maroo, Vice-President-Animation Division, Shemaroo Entertainment, added, “With all this, it is bound to leave a mark at Cannes and reach the global masses across miles.”

Shemaroo is also working on various international tie-ups for Ghatothkach and looks forward to have an international release beyond its India-centric one. The movie is made with a universal appeal for global viewers and will have an international English dub track.
