Kalaignar TV has beefed up its weekend programming by way of a ‘Star Cricket’ match, where an ensemble of southern cine star will be seen playing together in the best of their sporty spirits. In the wake of the forthcoming IPL series, the channel seems to be cashing in on the cricket flavour of the season.
The channel will telecast the match Live from 10.00 am on March 7. The ‘Star Cricket’ match will be played at the Chepauk Grounds in Chennai. Artists from the Tamil film industry, headed by artist Ramana, will have Arya, Simbu, Bharath, Srikanth, Jeeva, Jithan Ramesh, Santhanu, JK Ratheesh, Vikranth, Chinni Jayanth and Vishnu. The team from the Telugu film industry will be headed by Dr Rajasekaar.
Hello FM Chennai is the radio partner for the show, while Malai Malar is the print partner. The event has been organised by Chennai-based events company High Power. In order to promote the programme further, Kalaignar TV also aired a curtain raiser for the event called ‘Munnottam’ on March 6.
Malai Malar is the largest Tamil evening daily of Tamil Nadu published by the Malar Publications. Hello FM is the FM station from the same group. Malar Publications is part of the Daily Thanthi Group that publishes one of India’s largest selling newspapers, Daily Thanthi.
