The Star-Balaji relation doesn’t appear to get any better. After the closure of the signature K-serials – ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’, ‘Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki’ and Kasautii Zindagi Kay’ last year, Star Plus has now decided to bring the curtains down on another three Balaji shows – ‘Karam Apna Apna’, ‘Kayamath’ and ‘Kasturi’.
The channel is said to have already given the notice to Balaji to close the three shows, and sources close to the situation inform that the shows are expected to go off-air from mid-March 2009. A source close to the situation said, “There is a question mark on ‘Kis Desh Mein Hai Mera Dil’ and the recently launched ‘Tujh Sang Preet Lagi Sajna’ as well.”
All the three shows are almost 2-3 years old on the channel. ‘Karam Apna Apna’ was in the afternoon block in the 2.00 pm slot; ‘Kasturi’ was at 7.00 pm; while ‘Kayamath’ was recently moved to the 11.30 pm slot from the 11.00 pm slot.
Balaji officials could not be contacted while filing the report, but the point to watch out for is whether Balaji would look at taking any legal action this time, like it did when Star had axed its previous shows on the channel.
