Rajat Sharma’s India TV beefs up ad sales team

Ad sales head, South, Sony Entertainment Television (SET), Sanjay Reddy, begins a new stint, as head of sales and marketing of Rajat Sharma’s upcoming news channel India TV. Reddy has a cumulative experience of 14 years including stints with Times of India, ABNi (now CNBC TV18), Siti Cable, ESPN, Star Sports and Set India (Sony, Max, HBO and AXN).

Reddy reckons his best innings was one that encompassed selling cricket, during the 2003 World Cup. His team had conceptualized the popular ‘Extraa Innings’ on Sony Max with Mandira Bedi.

Reddy believes he is positioning himself to break new grounds in the news television market.

Reddy told exchange4media.com that he would introduce certain innovative ways to make India TV the most appropriate platform for the advertisers to derive value in the genre of news and ‘uni-content’ channel.

Meantime, Sharma is preparing to launch India TV in sync with the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. The studio and teleport for the channel have already been readied. “With credible faces, interactive programming and state-of-art technology, we will redefine every aspect of news delivery and project the changing face of India” said Sharma.
