The Times Group has launched a weekly called Vijaya Next, which will be catering to the upwardly mobile Kannadiga population. The 24- paged weekly priced at Rs 6 will be out every Friday, 28th May onwards and will be available all over the state through a phase-wise roll out.
Commenting on the launch, Rahul Kansal, Chief Marketing Officer, The Times of India, said, “We felt that there was a gap in the offering of the language press and the expectations of the upwardly mobile. There is a huge yearning for a change especially among small town people to be involved with the industry and to learn about new brands, technology, career, entertainment etc. This group comes just below the English reading population and even is hybrid in their taste. Vijaya Next will cater to this population.” .
Vijaya Next’s advertisement in today’s TOI reads, “Vijaya Next aims at meeting a long felt need for a wholesome product for the entire family.
