Divya Bhaskar launches Kutch edition today

The Bhaskar Group has announced the launch of Divya Bhaskar in Kutch on July 30, 2007. This will be Kutch’s first mainline daily and the eight edition of the newspaper in Gujarat. With this, Divya Bhaskar will now cover entire Gujarat. The newspaper already has editions in Ahmedabad, Baroda, Surat, Anand, Jamnagar, Rajkot and Bhavnagar.

The Kutch edition will be printed on the latest state-of-the-art printing machines at Bhuj with an initial expected circulation of 55,000-60,000 copies, which will be one and a half times of the existing local daily in Bhuj. Fifty per cent of the pages in this edition will be in colour.

Sanjay Bhatla, Senior GM, Divya Bhaskar, Mumbai, said, “Kutch is one of the fastest developing zones of the country with the highest per capita deposits. Also, being the biggest district of Gujarat, it’s an important market for us. Moreover, with India's busiest ports like Kandla and Mundra, Kutch is emerging as the growth driver of Gujarat, which will further help us grow.”

Ashwini Agarwal, State Head, Divya Bhaskar, Gujarat, said, “Bhaskar is committed to ensuring that every reader in Gujarat has access to the best of news, analysis and infotainment. The localisation of the content with timely reporting is an essential part of the whole process. We are excited to offer the booming economy of Kutch a dedicated newspaper. Along with the news from around the country, the paper will also offer people of Kutch news from within their district focusing on various issues and their solutions.”
