Things are going quite in favour of Grey WorldWide. The agency has added on more business from Living Media (India Today group). Apart from this, it is also the frontrunner for the Department of Tourism (DoT) account, which is pegged at Rs 55 crore.

Grey, which was handling Living Media’s Business Today responsibilities, has now added the India Today account. The total account size is pegged at Rs 6-7 crore.

DoT, on the other hand, decided to go in for professional help to take care of its communication. So, following a multi-agency pitch, DoT, according to sources, has chosen Grey WorldWide, Delhi, as its communications custodian. Mediacom would be handling the media responsibilities for the account.

DoT floated an open tender for the account. Various agencies including the likes of O&M participated.

The presentations were done in two stages. The first involved the interactive side of the business, including designing of the website, giving details on web buying, etc. This was valued at Rs 10 crore. The second stage involved the media business valued at Rs 40-45 crore. Each agency made a dual presentation. Though it is confirmed that Grey indeed is the frontrunner, it could not be established whether it would a multi-agency account or a single agency would handle the entire account.
