English movie channels like Star Movies, HBO, PIX and Zee Studio have spread quite a fare this summer. The month will see a mix of action, drama, adventure, romance, comedy and superhero movies.
An official communiqué from HBO quoted, “This summer, HBO has 60 reasons to chill at home every night as it brings you ‘Summer Cocktail’, a fantastic repertoire of successful Hollywood movies guaranteed to set your heart thumping.”
HBO will showcase movies like ‘Monster-In-Law’ as the HBO Blockbuster of the Month. In its Saturday Night block, the channel will showcase ‘The Polar Express’, ‘A Sound of Thunder’, ‘Cry Wolf’ and ‘The Exorcism of Emily Rose’. Other movies that will be showcased for this summers are ‘8MM’, ‘Pirates of Caribbean — At World’s End’ and many more.
For its summer blockbusters, STAR Movies will telecast a line-up for May with movies like ‘The Pacifier’ and ‘Bride and Prejudice’. The Friday Night Premier would feature ‘The Perfect Catch’, ‘Stay’ and ‘Rebound’. Under the Sunday Box office, STAR Movies titles include the likes of ‘War of the World’, ‘Independence Day’ and ‘Star War Episode III’.
An official communiqué from STAR Movies quoted, “As the temperatures rise, stay cool with a selection of cinema’s biggest blockbusters. This month, we have the White Witch in ‘Narnia’, Aishwarya Rai in ‘Bride and Prejudice’ and Vin Diesel handling kids in ‘The Pacifier’, among others. From fantasy epics and action to romantic dramas and adventure, we’ve got it all on STAR Movies.”
PIX has decided to pay a tribute to two directors — Martin Scorsese and Woody Allen — this month. The line-up begins with Martin’s films: ‘Raging Bull’, ‘Taxi Driver’, ‘New York, New York’ and ‘Age of Innocence’. Some of Woody Allen’s films that will be showcased include ‘Everything That You Always Wanted To Know About Sex’, ‘Interiors’, ‘Manhattan’, ‘Husband and Wives’ and ‘Crime and Misdemeanors’.
Zee Studio, which has partnered with UTV-Palador, presents a 360-degree initiative this summer called ‘Olive collection’. Under this collection, the channel will feature ‘Twin Peaks’, ‘Kansas City’, ‘Black Cat White Cat’, ‘Secret and Lies’ and ‘Seven Samurai’.
