TLC emerges as leader in lifestyle genre: BARC Wk 45

TLC, India’s go to lifestyle destination from Discovery Communications India, has emerged on top in the lifestyle genre in the BARC ratings for Week 45. The other channels from Discovery Communications India - Discovery Channel and Animal Planet  continue to be at first and second spot in the infotainment category.**

TLC moved to first rank in the Lifestyle Genre by gaining (+30 %) share mainly due to time spent growth in Maharashtra, Hyderabad, Chennai and Mumbai market. There was also a significant reach growth in afternoon slots - 13:00:00 to 14:00:00 by 70% and 14:00:00 to 15:00:00 by 39%.*  4 shows from TLC  - ‘Amsale Girls’, ‘Stefanies Style Diaries’, ‘Inside Hestons World’ and ‘Extreme Cake Makers’ are in Genre’s Top 10.*

Commenting on the development, Zulfia Waris, Vice President – Digital & Premium Networks, Discovery Communications India, said, “I am delighted that TLC has emerged as a clear leader in the Lifestyle Genre. We have painstakingly worked towards ensuring that our programming reflects the ethos of today’s millennial audience. Our endeavor will be to extend the lead in the times to come.”

TLC was followed by Living Foodz at the second spot while Fox Life was placed third according to BARC ratings.
