Raj Nayak completes 25 years in TV, industry raises a toast

It’s New Year and what better start can the industry look forward to than celebrating 25 years of an industry veteran. On January 2, Raj Nayak, COO, Viacom 18, marks his silver jubilee year in the television industry. Raj is one of the most highly regarded thought leaders in the media & entertainment space in India. In his glorious journey of 25 years there is a lot that he has achieved not just as a professional but as a person industry looks up to. Here is what many across the media, marketing and advertising domains, shared about this truly people’s man.

His success story since the 90s is of the stuff that legends are made of. He is an inspiration. My sincere best wishes to Raj for the happening years ahead.

Although I have never worked with Raj in the same organisation, we have been colleagues in the same industry for close to seven years. I have always been impressed by Raj’s cheerfulness, his highly collaborative nature, how lightly he wears his responsibilities - never taking himself too seriously and his ability to carve out a win-win. Congratulations Raj for 25 years...and shine on!

What impresses me most about Raj is how despite the pressures and commitments of work, he manages to find time for his family and friends. He is a genuinely empathetic friend, a proud dad and a caring husband -and this is so evident to anyone who knows him for even a short time! Wishing him the very best of success in life, good health and happiness!

Avinash Pandey, COO, ABP news
Raj Nayak , is single largest competitive advantage to his organisation and where ever he worked before . He has hegemonic influence over clients, agency, MSOs Producers, directors and journalists. That wide range is rare. And probably this has been possible because he is truly innovative in his approach to work and relationship. I wish Raj many more years of success in our industry.

Partho Dasgupta, CEO, BARC India:
“Whatever happens, happens for the good” and “If you not living on the edge, you are occupying too much space” - These two quotes define the always positive and risk taking Raj Nayak. He has been an innovator and thinks beyond the ordinary which has enabled him to successfully lead the channel which has created history. He is a team player and defines charisma in the media business. He has contributed to the industry in a big way by taking up various leadership roles in Ad Club, IBF, etc. It was under his leadership that the industry came together to recognise the work done by marketing professionals, through Marquees Awards. He is effervescent, a kid at heart and the man who defines relationship in the industry. I congratulate him on completing 25 years in the industry and wish he will continue to light the path for another 25 years.
