BARC Wk 45: Star Bharat leads Hindi GEC for the first time

In the overall market, Star Bharat took the top spot with 687.2 mn impressions for the first time followed by Zee Anmol and Zee TV with 687.1 mn and 681 mn insertions respectively, according to BARC data for week 45 (November 6 – 11). Star Bharat's programme Kya Haal Mr Panchaal took the fourth spot in the Top 5 programmes overall with 9mn impressions. 

Colors has bagged the top spot in the Hindi urban GEC with 432 mn impressions section leaving Zee TV and Star Plus behind by a margin of 280 mn impressions. ZEE TV’s ‘Kundali Bhagya’ and SAB TV’s ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chasma’ are top two programmes with 6.8 mn and 6.2 mn impressions respectively, while none of the Colors programmes have made it to the Top 5 list.

Zee TV’s two programmes, Kundali Bhagya and Kumkum Bhagya continued to be at number one and number three spots respectively in top five most watched programmes in the urban market.



Urban Market

Last week, Colors had slipped to second spot with no show appearing on the Top 5 Programs, this week though it has reclaimed its top spot. Zee TV and Star Plus followed Colors.

Star Plus’s position remains unchanged at number three, when compared with last week with 363 mn impressions. It’s two shows Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ and ‘Ye Hai Mohabbatein’ are featured in the Top 5 shows list.

Sony Entertainment Television and Star Bharat slipped to fourth and fifth spot respectively with 313 mn and 311 mn impressions.

Rural Market

Zee Anmol continues to lead the rural market with 536 mn impressions followed by Sony Pal at 405 mn impressions. Sony Pal’s ‘Baalveer’ took the second spot while 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ remains at fourth spot.

Like last week, Star Bharat retained its third spot with 375 mn impressions but one of its shows made it to the Top 5 Programs list. Star Utsav climbed to fourth spot with 301 mn impressions and Rishtey took the fifth spot with 278mn impressions while Zee TV was down to sixth spot with 276 mn impressions.
