The New Indian Express may launch another newspaper in Delhi by Jan 2018

The New Indian Express, an English-language daily newspaper published by Express Publications (Madurai) Limited is expected to launch a newspaper in New Delhi by January 2018. The name of the newspaper is still not known.

Also, Khogen Singh, who is presently Associate Editor at The Hindu, has been appointed as Resident Editor of The New Indian Express and will be joining the office in New Delhi from October 9, 2017.

According to a well placed source within the news organisation, the newspaper “was expected to be launched in October but had to be postponed till January next year.”

“8-10 more journalists will be recruited to meet the requirement when it launches,” the source said.

Express Publications (Madurai) Limited, which is the flagship Company of the Group, publishes The New Indian Express from 25 centres in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Odisha.

It also publishes Sunday Standard from New Delhi and has 12 members in the editorial team

The company is owned and managed by Manoj Kumar Sonthalia and the Editorial Director of the Group is Prabhu Chawla.

CORRIGENDUM: The story was originally published on October 6, 2017. It is being re-published with corrections. The newspaper set to be launched by Express Publications (Madurai) Limited is not “Delhi Edition” of The New Indian Express as it was previously mentioned in the story. We regret the error.
