Winners of Jaya TV's contest to travel on 'Mumbai Xpress' with Kamal Hassan

This 'Mumbai Xpress' will not reach Mumbai - it will start at Kanyakumari and stop at Chennai, before heading back to Kanyakumari. And traveling in this 'Summer Holiday Special' from Jaya TV will be the winners of a contest with actor Kamal Hassan and members of his recent bilingual, Mumbai Xpress team.

Jaya TV has started airing teasers on the contest featuring the actor, and the contest announcements will be made through the channel starting Sunday, according to its VP-Programmes and Operations, V Murali Raaman. He told exchange4media, "This will be a first of its kind promotion. Though train trips have been done before, this is the first time when the crew of a movie, including a star like Kamal Hassan, will undertake the journey along with the winners."

To enter the contest, viewers will have to answer questions on the movie and on the brand supporting the event, and respond with a ticket which will go to prove that the viewer has seen the movie. A lucky draw among correct entries would then bring out the winners of the contest. While the logistics are still being worked out, according to the channel, the train journey is being planned for the third week of June.

Along the journey and after reaching Chennai, the winners will be part of carnival-type festivities and games, said the spokesperson. Jaya TV plans to air the event as a two part series of an hour each, about two weeks after the trip.

The channel is considering media and non-media avenues to promote the event. It recently acquired the telecast rights to the movie (Mumbai Xpress).
