TV18 Network and LG Electronics unveil biggest cricket bat ever to cheer the Men in Blue

TV18, in association with LG Electronics, celebrated the spirit of cricket by way of the ‘LG Cheer for India’ campaign. For the final phase of the on-ground campaign, the largest cricket bat in the world was unveiled in Mumbai last evening at a gala event.

The evening’s festivities included the convergence of the four ‘LG Cheer for India’ caravans at the MMRDA Grounds in Mumbai, after they had travelled across the country. Aboard these caravans were the giant bats signed by thousands of cricket lovers from across the nation, wishing the Indian team good luck for the ICC World Cup. The event will be showcased on air in a special ‘LG Cheer for India — the Great Indian Bat Show’, on March 16 at 8.30 pm on IBN 7 and at 10 pm on CNN-IBN.

The ‘LG Cheer for India’ initiative was undertaken to salute the spirit and passion with which cricket is associated in India. TV18 Network had organised a pan-India campaign in partnership with LG Electronics, involving specially designed caravans that visited pre-determined locations in various cities in a bid to garner support for the Indian team.

Rajdeep Sardesai, Editor-in-Chief, CNN-IBN and IBN 7, said, “Cricket is like a religion in India, which unites people irrespective of social, cultural and political differences. In keeping with this principle, we came up with the campaign and the response to it throughout the country has been overwhelming. We decided to go a step ahead by creating the biggest cricket bat in the world to add to the spirit of the sport, with the help of LG Electronics.”

“The campaign was devised keeping in mind the millions of Indians for whom cricket is a passion and who would like nothing better than to be able to send their best wishes to the ‘men in blue’. The outcome of this powerful alliance between TV18 and LG Electronics was bound to create fervour and excitement among cricket enthusiasts across the nation, especially when we unveiled the world’s biggest cricket bat,” said Sandeep Tiwari, Head of Marketing, LG India.
