Shreekant Gupte of Marico put in his papers

Shreekant Gupte, chief executive officer (CEO), nature care division, Marico Industries, has put in his papers. Gupte will soon be assuming the role of a CEO with Modi Enterprise in the company's yet to be christened lottery venture.

Gupte joined Marico Industries in 1991 as vice-president, operations, followed by vice-president, marketing, before he assumed the responsibility of the company's CEO, nature care division, four years ago.

He worked on brands such as Parachute and all its extensions -- Hair & Care, Shanti Amla, Medikar and Revive.

With an engineering degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, and a management degree from IIM, Kolkata, Gupte has, in the past, worked with Asian Paints, Sherwin Williams Inc, Saudi Arabia, and Garware Paints, Mumbai.
