Real India Conclave to reveal potential of emerging markets

With the metros and urban markets not offering high growth levels to brands, marketers have been talking of exploring India to understand and tap the resources of smaller cities. There is a market shift happening from tier I cities to tier II and tier III cities. These are the emerging markets, where real India is experiencing growth.

Everyone today is talking ‘Go rural’ – the game is about tapping these areas where aspiration levels and exposure levels are high. So, the next thrust is for these cities.
‘Real India Conclave’ is an attempt by Jagran and exchange4media to bring to the forefront the huge opportunities that are waiting to be tapped in the emerging states in India. This initiative aims to reveal the potential of emerging India. It is a thematic forum and the first edition focuses on the state of Bihar.

“The objective behind ‘Real India’ is to turn the spotlight on emerging markets that are driving India from within. The expectation is to create a platform where the industry can come together and discuss the rise of these markets, the future growth prospects, the changing lifestyles of consumers and the challenges these markets throw up – eventually to generate an in-depth knowledge of these markets,” said Basant Rathore, VP – Strategy, Business and Brand, Jagran.

Focusing on the transition in this market, Real India will showcase Bihar of today. To get a thematic experience of the state, there will be an exhibition pictorially displaying developments. The delicacies of the Bihari cuisine will also be on offer.

The Conclave will have eminent industry experts discussing why the emerging markets of India will be a crucial driver of Indian economy in the immediate future. The speakers are Alok Bhardwaj, Sr VP Marketing, Canon India; Amit Kapoor, Honorary Chairman, Institute of Competitiveness; Anisha Motwani, CMO, Max New York Life Insurance; Harkirat Singh, MD, Woodland; Harshit Kochar, Director, Vi John Group; Salil Kapoor, COO, Dish TV’ Satyajit Sen, CEO, Zenith Optimedia; and Shashi Sinha, CEO, Lodestar Universal.

“This is just the first step in this journey, and we will be looking at a series of initiatives to take this forward,” revealed Rathore. Taking the concept further, Real India Conclave will focus on thematic experiences of other states such as Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana in its next editions.

The first session of Real India Conclave will take place on June 29, 2012 at Taj Mansingh, New Delhi.
