Rama Bijapurkar to speak at the unveiling of IMPACT Top 50 Most Influential Women today

Highly regarded market strategy consultant and acclaimed business author, Bijapurkar will speak on 'Catching up with the consumer' exclusively at the third edition of IMPACT Top 50 Most Influential Women. The event is presented by Colors.

One of India's most esteemed thought leaders on market strategy and consumer- related issues, Rama Bijapurkar, has also penned some popular business books. Known for insightful observations arising fromconducive acumen that is backed by years of experience in the world of market strategy consulting and consumer behaviour, Bijapurkar has donned a number of hats in her mission to bringing ‘market focus to business strategy’.

Her insightful and authoritative book on the Indian consumer, ‘We are like that only: Understanding the Logic of Consumer India’ has won international acclaim. She is also the author of ‘Customer in the Boardroom - crafting customer based business strategy’ and recently launched ‘A never-before world - tracking the evolution of Consumer India’. Bijapurkar is a powerful observer of changing social paradigms in post-liberalised India.  Her acumen and prowess come across not only in the director’s role at blue chip companies, but also in her opinions and discernment of business and consumers related issues.

She has served as an Independent Director at Infosys, Axis Bank, Godrej Consumer Products, Titan, Mahindra Holiday & Resorts, Bharat Petroleum and CRISIL.  She currently serves as an Independent Director at Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services, UTI Bank and Give Foundation. In the past, she has worked McKinsey & Co, MARG Market Research, and MODE Services. An alumna of IIM-A, she regularly lectures there as a visiting faculty and is also on its board of governors.

Bijapurkar is also chairperson of People Research on India's Consumer Economy a not for profit think tank, a member of the governing council of the Banking Codes and Standards Board of India, the Insurance Information Board , and the Eminent Persons Advisory Group of the Competition Commission of India.
