Pantaloon Retail forays into home retail business with the launch of MeLa

Home Solutions Retail India Ltd, part of lifestyle retail major Pantaloon Retail India Ltd, has ventured into the home retail business with the launch of its home textile and furnishings store, MeLa. Home Solutions Retail India Ltd is headed by Raghu Pillai, who is the Managing Director and CEO.

The first MeLa store has been inaugurated at New Link Road, Andheri (W) in Mumbai, which is a stand-alone store. Besides providing a complete range of home furnishings, the store will also offer its customers a range of services that include tailoring facilities and customised home solutions by in-house designers. In the near future, customers will be able to enjoy innovative services like ‘Budget Homes’ and ‘Do-It-Yourself’ corners.

On the occasion of the launch, Pillai said, “MeLa is a first of its kind store. It is our attempt to help customers discover their personal style and inspire decorating choices they will love for years to come. Our home textiles and furnishings store is the first of many formats to be launched under the flagship Home Solutions brand, and we are optimistic it will give the homemaker a bigger and better choice for all the needs of the home.”

Home Solutions Retail India Ltd has a unique business model based on the theme of being ‘home centric’. The Home Solutions brand will be a large format flagship store catering to the needs of various home management requirements and products. It will have divisions comprising home furnishings and textiles, home furniture, consumer electronics, home building, home electricals, home services, and home improvement.

The company also plans to set up stand-alone exclusive stores for home textiles, furnishings, furniture, electrical and durables in addition to the large format Home Solutions stores.
