India’s foremost brands were unveiled at exchange4media group’s Pitch Top Brands on July 22 in New Delhi. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Maheish Girri graced the occasion as the chief guest.
Girri, who is also the National Secretary of BJP, laid emphasis on recognizing the efforts put in to create brands.
“When a brand is created then we look at the brand but not at the hard work that goes behind creating that brand,” said Girri. He hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi as an example of able marketing.
Girri stated that Modi went around the nation to understand its nature and is now projecting it in the right manner to the outside world. “He is marketing India globally as a brand,” he added.
Commenting on the overall marketing scenario in the country, Girri stated that the country lags behind in global marketing. He mentioned that appropriate packaging was required to present the innovative practices being carried out in India since a long time.
While addressing the issue of market research, Girri invoked Mahatma Gandhi and said that when Gandhi came back from South Africa to India, he wanted to do something for the independence of the country. However, his mentor Gopal Krishna Gokhale advised him to first tour the country’s villages and towns before developing any perspective.
“Listening to people’s grievances is important,” he added. Girri, who is known to be a spiritualist, also stated that touching people’s hearts is significant. He concluded by congratulating the winners and saluting their spirit that helps in shaping brand India.
