Motorola guns big for Indian market, unveils six-month product roadmap

Motorola is gunning big and aggressive for the India handsets market. The global giant has unveiled its hottest portfolio to date with a kaleidoscope of must-have mobile devices and accessories that will set new standards in style for Indian consumers.

In the spotlight of Motorola’s new portfolio is the highly anticipated, ultra-slim MOTOKRZR. Carrying a price tag of Rs 16,990, MOTOKRZR provides the ultimate blend of design and functionality with a unique solid glass front, full suite of multimedia services, premium craftsmanship, precision detailing and elegant finish.

With a stunning reflective blue casing, MOTOKRZR features a high-resolution 2.0 mega pixel camera, stereo Bluetooth headset support, an updated phone directory, new messaging applications, integrated music player and expandable memory upto 1GB. This phone comes equipped with Edge technology.

The company has also launched its highly affordable and attractive new clam, the Motorola W220, for the Indian consumer with a price tag of Rs 3,999. The W220 is a feature rich handset with GPRS, WAP and MMS facilities. It includes a built-in stereo FM radio, picture messaging, alarm clock, a 600-entry phone book and 250 SMS storage capacity.

Finally, Motorola also launched MOTOMING in India. Addressing the needs of the business professional, this ultra-smart PDA phone comes packed with wireless stereo Bluetooth, a two-megapixel camera, business card reader, enhanced handwriting recognition, and a 512MB memory card with preloaded multimedia. It all comes at a competitive price of Rs 17,490.

“Motorola’s MOTOKRZR, along with the W220, MOTOMING and the stunning line-up of handsets and accessories unveiled today in India, sets a new standard in style and design,” said Allen Burnes, Corporate Vice-President, High Growth Markets, Motorola Mobile Devices. “From top to bottom, this latest range from Motorola meets the diverse needs of Indian consumers while allowing them to express their own sense of personal style.”

The company also showcased its product roadmap for the next six months including handsets and accessories. These include the MOTORIZR, which illustrates the latest in design, style and elegance in a slider form factor; MOTOFONE, a game-changing handset that redefines the market, making high design and smart technology truly affordable; MOTORAZR V3xx and MOTORAZR maxx V6 which blend high-speed HSDPA connectivity and dynamic multimedia; and two of Motorola’s latest MobileME Bluetooth headsets, the H670 and H800, which reflect the style and sophistication of the MOTOKRZR and MOTORIZR.
