Micromax has won the title sponsorship rights from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for matches in the 2014-15 season. The matches include all international ones played by India in the country, starting with West Indies’ tour of India in October-November 2014.
As per media reports, Micromax was the only bidder for the title sponsorship. It may be recalled that STAR India, which had secured the title sponsorship rights in October 2013, had bid a base price of Rs 2 crore per match.
The title sponsorship also extends to domestic series, including the Ranji Trophy, the Irani Cup, the Duleep Trophy, the Vijay Hazare Trophy, the Deodhar Trophy and the Raj Singh Dungarpur Trophy.
