Maruti gives the WagonR a touch of luxury, launches WagonR Primea priced at Rs 3.89 lakh

Following the success of WagonR, Maruti Udyog Ltd has now introduced a special limited edition of the model across the country. The WagonR Primea has been priced at Rs 3.89 lakh.

Available in two metallic colours, Midnight Black and a new Champagne Gold colour, the WagonR Primea has alloy wheels, front fog lamps and a chrome muffler cap. Its stylish body graphics, two-tone leather steering wheel and body colored door handles, enhances the aesthetic appeal of the vehicle.

Besides, the car is also equipped with a new design speedometer with a halo effect and comes with an interesting interior 2-tone colour plan and colour coordinated beige upholstery.

According to a Maruti spokesperson, “The name ‘Primea’ connotes premiumness. It is a tastefully designed product reflecting the discerning choice of the ever-demanding consumer. It promises to offer the plush luxury of an A3 segment car in the premium compact range.”

Maruti currently has an overall market share of 54.7 per cent, the company plans to sustain the growth in the future also. As far as its model WagonR is concerned, the company posted an impressive growth of 57 per cent during 2004-05. In the first six months this fiscal, 2005-06, WagonR has further grown by 14 per cent over the corresponding period last year.

Cumulative sales of WagonR have crossed 250,000 units till date. In this financial year (from April till October) around 45,000 units of Wagon R have been sold so far.

Thus, going by this trend it was quite conducive for the company to offer the customers something new thereby continuing to ride on the success factor.

The limited edition of WagonR Primea will be available from today for the next two months, though the period of availability might extend depending on the response of the consumers.

The company will launch a print campaign within a day or two as part of its plans to promote the car.
